Take a look at www.sypte.co.uk - the journey planner there might help.

Bus 74 or 85 is probably your best bet.

Otherwise head either into town or onto London Road and get the 97/97A/X18.

Timetables www.sypte.co.uk or www.firstgroup.com.

Sheffbag,

I can never remember the Travelline number, even though many, many moons ago I wrote the first load of software that was ever used on there!

The mind's going as I approach my anecdotage.... :)

There are no rivers, gorges, mountain ranges, mine fields, or active lava flows to cross so I would say it is walkable.

It's perfectly walkable though if you're not used to walking it is a bit of a trek. You have to cross two rivers depending on your route. There is the one that flows through Endcliffe park and down past the bottom of the General Cemetary and then you have to cross the River Sheaf that flows right next to Tesco's, thank goodness for bridges.
Tesco do run a Tesco bus, I 've seen it at the Tesco carpark loads but have absolutely no idea of it's route but it may be worth checking it out.

I have seen this bus periodically turning out right at the traffic lights on Kingfield Road on to Psalter Lane but it doesnt seem to have any set timetable.

the tesco bus is a park and ride service....for some bizarre reason, i know not what!
I, embarrasingly, flagged it down once and asked if i could get on to go to tescos. 'park and ride love' was his response, as he drove off into the distance!

I flagged it down at the bus stop on Psalter Lane once and he told me where to get off before I'd got on :D but he didnt mention anything about park and ride.

There are actually more than one Tesco bus, there is the Park & Ride one where you park your car in Tesco's car park then get the bus non-stop into town, then the other Tesco bus is a shoppers bus that picks people up in nearby suburbs once a week to take them to Tesco.

In addition to the Tesco buses, route 85 terminates in Tesco's car park!
