Joe Andy C 05-10-2005, 00:32 Bus 74 or 85 is probably your best bet. Otherwise head either into town or onto London Road and get the 97/97A/X18. Timetables www.sypte.co.uk or www.firstgroup.com. sheffbag 05-10-2005, 07:45 or ring travel line on 01709 515151 on behalf of the SYPTE Sheffield forumsters JoeP 05-10-2005, 08:12 Sheffbag, I can never remember the Travelline number, even though many, many moons ago I wrote the first load of software that was ever used on there! The mind's going as I approach my anecdotage.... :) Joe pluto115 05-10-2005, 14:49 cheers, one more question, does anyone know whether this route is walkable or is transport totally necerssary? cheers nick2 05-10-2005, 15:31 Originally posted by pluto115 cheers, one more question, does anyone know whether this route is walkable There are no rivers, gorges, mountain ranges, mine fields, or active lava flows to cross so I would say it is walkable. WallBuilder 05-10-2005, 20:52 It's perfectly walkable though if you're not used to walking it is a bit of a trek. You have to cross two rivers depending on your route. There is the one that flows through Endcliffe park and down past the bottom of the General Cemetary and then you have to cross the River Sheaf that flows right next to Tesco's, thank goodness for bridges. Tesco do run a Tesco bus, I 've seen it at the Tesco carpark loads but have absolutely no idea of it's route but it may be worth checking it out. wendygs 09-10-2005, 09:19 I have seen this bus periodically turning out right at the traffic lights on Kingfield Road on to Psalter Lane but it doesnt seem to have any set timetable. samsmum 09-10-2005, 09:38 the tesco bus is a park and ride service....for some bizarre reason, i know not what! I, embarrasingly, flagged it down once and asked if i could get on to go to tescos. 'park and ride love' was his response, as he drove off into the distance! wendygs 09-10-2005, 10:36 I flagged it down at the bus stop on Psalter Lane once and he told me where to get off before I'd got on :D but he didnt mention anything about park and ride. Andy C 09-10-2005, 10:59 There are actually more than one Tesco bus, there is the Park & Ride one where you park your car in Tesco's car park then get the bus non-stop into town, then the other Tesco bus is a shoppers bus that picks people up in nearby suburbs once a week to take them to Tesco. In addition to the Tesco buses, route 85 terminates in Tesco's car park! Andy C 09-10-2005, 11:01 route 85 timetable http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/yorkhumber/southyorkshire/timetables/timetable.php?day=1&source_id=2&operator=South%20Yorkshire&op_id=26&area=&service=85/86&routeid=67921 Andy C 09-10-2005, 11:14 You can get the timetable for the Tesco buses on the journey planner linked from www.sypte.co.uk. The route numbers: 505 Park & Ride C1 Nether Edge shoppers bus C2 Meersbrook shoppers bus C3 Gleadless Valley shoppers bus C4 Greenhill/Jordanthorpe shoppers bus C5 Totley shoppers bus C6 Totley Brook shoppers bus SV500 09-10-2005, 17:08 while we'r on the subject ;) what buses go from ecclesfield (poss church street area) to grenoside and back ? ive not found any on those linked sites, im pretty shure they exist, but never remember the numbers on the front  does anyone know ?
