Just use a 50/50 veg oil/diesel mix and you won't notice the difference. (except in your wallet)
When the temperatures approach freezing outside you might have problems with it becoming too thick to flow if you use a higher ratio of veg oil.
Rape seed oil is by far the best to use if you can obtain it. Much more sympathetic to fuel pumps and seals.
Oh, and don't forget to register for fuel duty on the oil of course!

I hope you will also be paying duty on your biodiesel ;)
My boss uses a 50/50 veg oil/Diesel mix and he swears by it as he does a lot of mileage.
I have unleaded so have not tried it personally but would be gratefull if someone knows of a similar thing that works for unleaded.

Yeah - it's called an LPG conversion!
There is a firm that supplies and fits a kit for you chip fat jockies.
It preheats the oil and starts up on pure diesel. Get a duty form and declare every tenth gallon!
sounds like you lot are on my level
what a great site and great replies
will keep you posted

I've read somewhere that the South Yorkshire Police now run their deisel vehicles on this oil along with an additive saving about 10% on the fuel bill.
Happy motoring
