Forget Glastonbury, this years festival of choice is Party in the Car Park at the Coach & Horses, Chapeltown this bank holiday Monday.
The event, which starts at 1pm is the third annual music festival hosted at the pub. It promises to be fun for all the family with five live bands playing throughout the afternoon and evening, including Barnsley based band the Civilians who are headlining.
Other acts include Sheffield based metal band Jackson Caged who where finalists at this year’s live and unsigned event at the O2 arena in London, Richard James, a Freddie Mercury tribute and The Misfits as well as other supporting bands.
The event is FREE to enter; all the organisers ask for people to make a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support in Sheffield on the day.
Organiser and landlord of the Coach & Horses, Andy Openshaw said “It is a fantastic day for all the family, great music, food, drink and face painting for the kids (and adults!) Last year we raised over £1000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and we want this year’s Party in the Car Park to be the best yet! So I am urging people across Sheffield to join us, listen to great live music as well as raising funds to support people with cancer and their families.
Fundraising Manager for Macmillan, Rebecca Staden said “Macmillan are really proud to be beneficiaries of such a fantastic event. Every pound donated at Party in the Car Park will help local people affected by cancer. We are currently fundraising in Sheffield to fund eight Macmillan professionals that provide expert care and support for people living with cancer and their families including a Macmillan city wide carers scheme.
Macmillan relies on donations for 99% of its income, which is why your involvement is so valuable.
Party in the Car park is a great event, what better way to spend your bank holiday Monday?”
