Has anyone had reflexology? I used to have it done at least once a month in the past, but got out of the habit - I went back last week and realised how much I'd missed it! - Isn't it amazing how different parts of the body correspond to areas of the feet, you can actually feel the pressure bubbles disappearing as your feet are massaged.

'Reflexology is a method of treatment using massage to reflex areas found in the feet and the hands. Most commonly, the feet are used as the areas to be treated.

In the feet, there are reflex areas corresponding to all the parts of the body and these areas are arranged in such a way as to form a map of the body in the feet with the right foot corresponding to the right side of the body and the left foot corresponding to the left side of the body.

By having the whole body represented in the feet, the method offers a means of treating the whole body and of treating the body as a whole. This latter point is an important factor of a natural therapy and allows not only symptoms to be treated but also the causes of symptoms'.

After my two month hospital stay (with 3 operations thrown in for good measure) I had reflexology to help me recover because my body was just too knackered and fragile to have treatment massages on my body. I couldn't rate it highly enough. The treatment was painful allright, and was done at home in my bedroom so that when it was finished the reflexologist could just cover me over with a blanket and let herself out quietly while I slept it all off, but the difference was immense. In a couple of weeks I lost the tension headaches that I was having, and was able to lie down comfortably for the first time in months.
