We are going Saturday to see Lee Evans at the Arena - been waiting about 18 months. Really looking forward to it. Is anyone else going?

Sorry if this comment is taken the wrong way but i saw him on Wrossy on Friday and i found him really unfunny! Really embarrassing!!

Maybe he is different onstage in his own environment but on a talk show...bad!

Thats my opinion!

His interviews are never great because he's quite nervous about them. I saw him in Birmingham last weekend and he was absolutely brilliant, my jaw ached from laughing. going again this friday as it's definetely worth seeing again! i'm sure everyone who goes will love it.

Yes we bought ours about that time as well, only at the time I didn't realise that it was for this year - I thought it was last year. I was that eager to get them as soon as they were advertised that I wasn't paying attention:loopy: We only realised a week or so before we thought we were going! But like you say - time flies and I can't believe its this weekend.

I am going to the Friday show and I have got a quite good seat - Block B Row 3.

I can't wait - I saw him two years ago at The City Hall and I nearly stopped breathing because I was laughing so much.

We are in for a treat!

I went last night as well.. I'm not the biggest Lee Evans fan but I thought it was a good show overall.. the missus loved it though and was variably crying with laughter all night.

The only crap part of the night for me was the bit when he changed at the end to dress in a white suit- and did the song which I thought went on too long and was unfunny- a lot of the people I looked around at looked quite bored at that bit as well.

Fantastic ovation for the guy especially after he did Bohemian Rhapsody at the end

There is only one word to describe Lee Evans and that is genius.

I was at the Arena last night and he was hilarious. He was on stage for almost two hours and I really don't think there was a single minute that I wasn't laughing.

He had me crying with laughter at one point. There was another point when I almost stopped breathing because I was laughing so much.

I have seen him twice now and I have not been disappointed, if anything he has left me wanting more.

In my opinion he is the best stand-up comic around, far better that Peter Kay and that's saying something!

No way is Lee Evans better than Peter Kay.. dont agree with you there sorry to say :)

I saw a lot of people in the B section at the arena where I was sitting last night looking bored stiff during the white-suit song at the end of the night, that bit went on far too long for me- and it just was not funny at all.

It was still a good night though, but I'm looking forward to seeing Dave Spikey more to be honest

OK so the song was a bit boring, but that was ten minutes of a two hour show. The rest was bloody amazing.

Oh and he is better than Peter Kay - 10 times better.

We are all entitled to our opinions though, the world would be boring if we all agreed.

Quick question for the people saying that Lee Evans is better than Peter Kay..

Name me 5 Lee Evans catchphrases you can remember off the top of your head without looking them up on the tinternet or looking at his past DVD's.

I reckon you could manage about 2- maybe 3 memorable ones at most.

Peter Kays on the other hand- stick in your head.. ie: Garlic Bread, Its Spitting, Teletext, Red Lion, Rola Cola, Big Light On... I could go on for ages..

Thats what sets the comedian above others- people remember quality lines and jokes- I cant remember much from Lee Evans on Friday night to be honest- apart from the odd bit now and again namely- Brown Tooth instead of BluTooth which was gold, broadband, dog scratching its arse on the floor complete with sound effect, women wearing too many items..

What a fantastic night! Well worth the wait. What an achievement to fill an arena like that two nights running. I thought the song he sang at the end in his white suit was good - quite catchy. Does anyone know why the young lad got up on the stage? was it pre-arranged? if not where was the security?
Can't wait for next time!!!

WOW it sounds like you all had a really good night. I wish i'd got tickets now ... :(

I do like Lee Evans, he does remind me of Norman Wisdom in many ways and I think he's great.

Oh well, maybe next time i'll get to see him and laugh until my face aches ... :hihi:

I thought it was good of him to let the young lad on stage as well I was just surprised no-one tried to stop him. It must have been a real soggy hug:) I didn't want the show to end.

Does anyone know if they were recording footage at the arena to go on the new DVD or is it going to be filmed somewhere else for the DVD?

Thanks.

Me and hubby had a right laugh on Saturday, we enjoyed every minute!

We didn't get to sleep till 2.30am cause we were sat giggling in bed!

Best bits -
Dog scraping it's bum on the wooden floor
No claims woman who went to Magaluf with her £5k cheque
Jokes about the new Sheffield 'apartments'
The sheep - 'bobble hat? F*** off...'
The bit about womens bath water

I could watch that show over again and never get bored!

lee evans was amazing! although I admit the song at the end wasnt great I think he made it up with the bohemian rhapsody! Must say was laughing so hard I was creased double! Peter Kay is a very good comedian but I feel Lee is more of an entertainer!!!!

Sorry to push this back to the top again, but I've heard something today that was necessary to be said.

This is concerning saturdays performance at the arena.

One of my work colleagues and his family attended, I wont mention any names, and they saw a young lad get onto the arena stage with Lee- nothing wrong there mind- as Lee apparently said it was ok for him to do so.

The lad then got off the stage to be surrounded by a bunch of arena security guards????

Can anyone confirm or deny this for me- this is saturdays performance only- I've heard a few rumours going round that the lad in question was asked to leave the arena due to this- again- can anyone confirm or deny this please.

Cheers

I was there on Saturday and I watched him get down from the stage then walk with someone (I presumed it was security and they had allowed him to do it) to the back of the arena but I don't know if they made him leave.

Sorry not read the rest of this topic - saw it was about Lee Evans and had to post a comment; -I saw Lee on Friday night at the Arena, he was absolutely f***ing amazing, I laughed myself stupid, those people that started to leave during the song, missed out on the Behemien Rapsody .

I have already ordered the DVD on play.com.

Cheers
Matt
