Drove up Western Bank this morning at 9.15am and the bus stop opposite Western Park Hospital was covered in police tape with a search of the floor going on. I came back past it at about 1.30pm and the police were still there, although the bus stop was open again.

Anyone know what has happened?

Chief Inspector lost his contact lens while waiting for the bus on his way into work this morning, thought he'd get the lads to find it for him....

I don't know what this incident was about but i have noticed a lot of police presence in crookes in the last couple of days, well when i say a lot I mean some.

was on heavygate road on sunday and they went down the road twice, and asked if I was okay (it was about midnight and I was stood waiting for someone). Last night there were on northumberland when i got into my car, then down my street when I got out of it at home, 5 minutes later.

Is there something going on I don't know about??

Incident was an allegation of a serious sex assault, 3.30am, Western Bank Road area, near to the uni. The complainant ran along Western Bank to the Children's Hospital to seek refuge. We're appealing for witnesses to contact Hammerton Road Police Station on 2964878
