After reading that a certain yarn company is suing certain other yarn companies over what they claim their yarns are made up of, it makes me wonder if we can believe what we read on the label? I sometimes wonder when feeling a yarn and how soft it is how some of it can contain certain fibres and yet be so cheap? And others I wonder why the yarn companies think they can get away with the price tags they stick on them. Any thoughts?

Ive not really noticed but having said that most of my purchases are acrylic (not for want to trying it not to be) but I guess that there will be manufacturers that want to 'fleece' the consumer *chuckles at own pun*

Whatever the type of fibre, it is easy for companies to source dirt cheap/poor quality lots to use in their cheaper yarns.

It's like anything else, you get what you pay for I guess, the more expensive yarn will (hopefully!) be from much higher quality fleece, where as the cheaper end yarn will be from lower quality fibre.
