I know it's a bit of a stupid question, but not much else has been happening on here of late, so here goes........ I was watching Weakest Link yesterday, and it was a "special" . They were all champions at something. A lady, who got to the final two, but didn't win, was a champion knitter. She could do two hundred and thirty odd stitches (can't remember exact number....) in three minutes - which gave her the title. Does that not sound many to you? Bet there's some Sheffield Knitters (and neighbouring townies) out there can beat that :suspect:

That sounds incredibly sad, knitting is mainly a hobby so why would anyone in their right mind time it????

Sounds fast to me! If I was doing a shawl/blanket type thing with that many stitches on each row, I'm sure it would take me longer than that, even in stocking stitch. I do have form for not being able to do anything until I have "finished my row" as in "Just let me finish this row!" and my estimate for how long that will take is usually out by quite a bit....no-one believes me any more when I say I just need one more minute...

I know the feeling. Them words are bandied about quite a lot in this house, followed by the feeling of guilt for putting knitting before child......:hihi::hihi: Short lived guilt though :D

I could hold the record for the slowesty knitter of 230 odd stitches?

LOL, I'm sure I can beat that sherakapod ;)

I'm sure she wouldn't be able to do anything constructive with that speed, there would be no point in knitting if that was the case!
