Sorry, this has to rate as one of the most boring threads ever, but it has to be done - I'm getting cold!
My old thermostat got smashed and doesn't work anymore, I got a replacement one but have discovered that the old one has 3 neutral wires going into it, the new one only required 2. So can anyone offer any advice about that to do, I'm guessing I can't just ignore one!
Advice? You need an electrician ;)
Thanks Stix!
Or I could get more jumpers?
do you still have the old one? Can you figure out if two of those wires were internally linked (and are therefore both incomming, or both out going?)
If you can find two that are, wire them into the same terminal in the new socket, cross your fingers and pray ;)

Oops, sorry Strix!
Yes, I have the old one, it's hanging on the wall by it's wires. I'll have a closer look at it.
You could try doing a search on this forum. It's been useful in the past.
Plumbing (http://www.fp.rdg.ac.uk/wkc1/DIY/plumbing/)
Try this (http://www.luxproducts.com/trouble_shoot/prog_wiring_general.htm) webpage!!
My hubby had a 'wiring' problem last year and we resolved the problem just by doing a few google searches and even found an electricians forum so he had the reassurance of a second opinion!
Good Luck!

and blue to bits
dont mess with it, get a pro in to wire it up or take it back to the shop and get the proper one in exchange
