I have just come from the Shepcote Lane area and there has been an awful accident.

A TNT artic has veered across three lane of traffic and has demolished a wall to the steelworks just past the bridge at the bottom.
The cab was buried into the wall and appeared to be completely crushed. All the emergency services are there and they are having to fork lift the goods from the lorry to get to the driver. It appears that all the goods slid along the length of the truck, slamming into the cab. I hope that the driver is ok.

The Police have closed of the entry to Shepcote Lane from the Tinsley Viaduct so beware of diversions

The TNT wagon was in the wall at 8AM this morning when I past, would hope the driver was out long ago.

Thanks very much for that, there was an ambulance there at about 12.15pm, don,t know if that was for the driver or someone else that was injured.

It also knocked out the electricity sub-station there.

The driver was OK, and the road was fully opened at (approx') 3pm.

The sub-station wasn't so lucky.
