I have msn messenger 7.5 running AND version 4 but i cannot get rid of version 4 just stays there ,there is no uninstall programs anywhere HELP

Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs... go to the tab on the side that says "windows install/remove" or something and un-tick "Windows Messanger"

can't remember the exact name on the side tab and can't check at work, but its there :)

Click 'Start' then 'Run' and enter the following string:

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Then click 'OK'

The version 4 sounds like Windows messenger, not MSN messenger.

Windows messenger does have it's uses, especially if something goes wrong with MSN messenger, which occasionally happens during updates.

Also, Windows messenger can run at the same time as MSN messenger, under a different log-in....useful if you have some people who you don't wish to have your main e-mail addy, but still want to chat to them in the normal course of events.
