I was wondering if the young people on the forum had any deffinite plans for the future, as old age creeps up on all of us fast..... myself i'm quite lucky as my husband paid into a good retirement plan for us, do you think of how it'll be for you 30-40 years down the road ?

Plan on buying a place in Spain in the next 5 years. Keeping a three flat in Chicago for income. Running a small olive farm in Spain. Wife will probably open up a School for Autism in England and Spain.. while i sit on the farm. See you later rat race!

I have pretty much paid enough tax to get a decent SS payment form the U.S and i have my opted out pension from England when i am old enough.. i am still 30 years from retirement age, but i plan on retiring to the farm in about 5-10.

luckily Stephen has a good pension, so by the time i'm 50, the kids will be 30, 28, 26 and 20. So me and He are planning on selling this big house and buying a one bedroom flat, where the kids can't stay! and buying an MG convertible or similar and touring europe, especially Italy, we both love pizza and pasta.... hm we might need a bigger car for the return journey!

We'll have to see how it pans out... all the best laid plans..... after all its only 20 years away!!

Me and hubby - both in our early thirties - but paying as much as we can into pensions so that we can retire about 55 ish , sell our big house and then buy a motorhome to bum around europe..... its a big plan but makes getting up for work more interesting when you know there is such a nice end game to look forward to.
