Lotti

As some of you will know I took on some hamster a couple of months ago. One had already had a litter of two, and the other female ended up having 11 pups a few weeks later. The male pup from the first litter and the father of both litters are now looking for a new home together.
Species of animal to be rehomed: Roborovski Hamster
Rehome or Sale? Rehome
Reason for Rehome / Sale: Took them on as fosters with a view to rehoming them when they were ready
Sale Amount: Nothing but I'd appreciate a donation to a rescue charity. An extra charge of £10 can cover their two wheels, little house and food which is worth £14.35.
Location: S10 - can travel a reasonable distance
Has the Pet been in Rescue Previously? Not as far as I know
Can the animal be picked up and put into a basket without the risk of scratching or biting? Yes
Age & Sex: Charlie is about a year old, Jerry is about 8 weeks. Both male.
Breed/ Mix: Roborvski Dwarf
Colour/coat type: normal browny colour!
Can the animal be groomed/handled without biting or scratching? Yes, the father (Charlie) is very fast and not particularly tame but doesn't bite and is coming around with lots of TLC! The youngster (Jerry) has been handled regularly from 2/3 weeks of age (when I got him) and is easier to catch and will sit on your hand. However, neither of them bite
Live in / out: In, further housing advice will be given.
Neutered/spayed: n/a
Chipped: n/a
Any Current or Historical Health or Psychological Issues: None
Temperament: A little timid, Charlie moreso than Jerry but that is roborovskis for you!
Vaccinated & Wormed: n/a
Any special knowledge needed: Not really, care sheets and advice will be given and I will be contactable for any questions.
General Information you can share: These hamsters are lovely, we will be a little sad to see them go but they can't live in our bathroom for ever! They are not ideal for children who want hamsters to pet and cuddle as they are very fast and very small. They are great fun to watch though and they now come out of their little house when we walk into the room so they are coming around a little bit.
There is a chance that they will fight so they should be provided with two of everything and no levels in their cage so there's nothing to fight over, be prepared to have a spare cage ready in case they do need separating but I've not had any of them start to fight yet and before Jerry went in with Charlie, Charlie had been living with two other (female) robos. The introduction of the two boys went incredibly smoothly and they cuddle up to each other to go to sleep.
Unlike many roborovskis you can tell the difference between these boys as Charlie's hair parts differently and he's much larger than Jerry. I don't think the size discrepancy will even out as Charlie is just a very big robo.
Please email me at info@pawsitivelypets.co.uk if you are interested (they are not being sold as part of the business but it's the best email address to get me on) and feel free to ask any questions as I want these boys to go to someone who is prepared for them not to be docile syrians!
