I wasted 60p tonight :loopy: never again. mikeyspikey 27-09-2005, 13:56 got it at first but its vanished biut we never spent on it. Jon 27-09-2005, 13:59 What freeview box do you have Goodmans? is it this one (http://www.dealclick.co.uk/thumb/goodmans-gdb2.jpg) goodmans-gdb2 ilaria 27-09-2005, 14:08 got it i have phoned several times but dont get through so i say what a load of con,(crap) saxon51 27-09-2005, 16:09 There was a lunchtime programme on the radio last week about these 'rip off' programmes, and apparently a watchdog is investigating the legallity of it all. Someone phoned the number, recorded the response, and was told that unfortunately they 'hadn't got through this time, but please try again later'. That was 60p for nothing! Apparently the eejit on the telly was saying that they were waiting for the next caller at this time so they were working a con and not putting people through on purpose for no apparent reason. Also, the warning that callers must be over 18 is not shown on the screen continually, so kids have phoned only to be told they aren't eligible to enter. 60p ripped off there then!! There is also an investigation into these questions with three possible answers quizes. You know the ones....... Which weekday comes immediately before Saturday? Is it.... A. Tuesday B. Monday C. Friday. Calls cost £1. It seems that because the answer is obvious, and 100% of callers will be correct, the fact that a name will be drawn out of a total of possibly a million names then it becomes a lottery, not a quiz. Lotteries and quizes come under different rulings. In short, possibly illegal and a rip off. |
