For those who remember me talking about cowcat...he has now let me stroke him (and I let him scratch me!)
Here are some piccies....:)
I'm sure you'll all agree that he is a very handsome cat indeed!

If he's coming around so quickly then it's very likely that he's not feral, just lost his trust in humans a little.

Good for you for trying to restore his trust :)

I don't know what he did to his eye. Now I've got closer to him it looks like the eyelid is turned in, but I ain't risking another scratch to check! Saying that, he is getting to know us and now sits under the window twice a day miaowing for food. He let me stroke him and laid on his back to have his tummy tickled. I'm wondering if I startled him at some point and that's why he scratched me.
He spends all day in my garden and all night in the neighbours garden as they have got one of those posh sheltered benches. I've bought him a little cat bed and put it by the back door for if he ever ventures in of his own will.

Every time I read cowcat my head converts it into cowpat poor thing :hihi: he is lovely but looks a typical tom cat bruiser, he would be much happier and nicer without his bits I am sure ;)
His poor eye looks firmly shut and very sore, he's probably been fighting and got a scratch in it, he might need a vet to help with that, its lovely that he is starting to trust you now, as Medusa says I bet he has just been straying for a long time.

He's had his bits off. I know his ex-owner who moved out and left him cos she said he was 'an outdoor cat' (???)
I tried to get him in 3 years ago, but then he went missing for well over a year and re-surfaced just after Christmas with one eye, a matted coat and looking the worse for wear.
Since we've been feeding him he has started to wash himself and looks quite perky now.
I only wish that he'd come in and see us and decides he likes us.

He was called Casper, but OH and I always called him cowcat because of his markings. We used to see him when we took Gnasher , our late dog, out for walks. He was so friendly then and would follow us on our walks.
Then his owners moved out and left him. I saw them in a pub sometime later and they told me that they'd left him behind and would we look after him.
Of course I said 'yes', but by then he'd gone AWOL and I didn't see him again til sometime round Christmas.
