View Full Version : Where can I sell old vinyl records?
michael_v2 26-09-2005, 17:19 Evening all,
was wondering if anyone knew where i could sell some vinyl records. Mostly classical. They belong to my mum, and she is wanting to know where to go, so as not to get ripped off.

michael_v2 26-09-2005, 17:53 kirky. cheers for that mate. but i think the postage would kill me.
eBay would probably be the best bet. The Rare Record Price Guide is a good resource for determining the value of your collection.
Although it's easier, you're likely to only get as much as half the list price of a record when you sell them to record stores.
michael_v2 26-09-2005, 18:03 thanks Laalaa, and kirky. may give them a go.

To be honest mate a lot of vinyl is worth very little. Of course it depends on what it is etc. but most of the time it won't be worth too much unless it's either limited or is an early release and not many were printed.
Saying that I know little about classical vinyl but I'd guess it would depend on who is perfoming it and if it's desirable to a collector or not. I could be wrong though.
Just search for some of the titles on the web and see what price they get listed for.
michael_v2 26-09-2005, 18:26 thanks boy face. :)
I recently sold a vinyl record on ebay - I looked it up on some record collectors site to see how much they were selling for and I got about £45 for it
just be honest about it's condition
hope this helps
up the blades

NIce to see a fan of Brora rangers FC, members of the Highland Footie League since 1962, posting on the Sheffield Forum.
Up the Red and White of Brora village! ;)
liveforever 05-10-2005, 15:35 Record Collector in Broomhill might buy em off ya?
ste031082 05-10-2005, 17:30 i would suggest reflex records on union street or ebay there ur best shot.
Crackers 05-10-2005, 18:18 Neither Record Collector or Reflex would be interested in buying classical LPs, as they don't sell them.
Rare 'N' Racy buy/sell classical records, and I concur with trying ebay. Some classical LPs are pretty valuable to collectors these days.
