Has anyone else been electrocuted by the machine that takes you parking ticket on the way out of John Lewis?

On Saturday I used the car park for the first time ever. I was first of all shocked at the size of the spaces. I parked up and there was an inch either side of the car so couldn't get the door open. I eventually had to park within a hairs width of the car to my left just so i could open my door enough to squeeze out. The cars either side were well within their spaces.

Then when exiting the car park the machine took my ticket and then sent a bolt of electricity straight down my arm. It was enough for my arm to shoot across the car and go numb for the next 3 hours and tingle for an hour after that. It is possible it was static but im not sure as I've never had anything that powerful from static before.

I have sent John Lewis an e-mail telling them to check the machine but so far have had no reply.

The narrow spaces have been discussed before: http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=54359&highlight=john+lewis

That machine sounds lethal though :o
