I recently went to see my mum's cousin in Brighton and she gave us a tour of Brighton, knowing everything there was to know about everywhere!

I then realised I know nothing much about Sheffield where I've lived since I was about 4!

So anything you know that I could tell visitors about our city - please put down in this thread! Would be interesting to find out!

Thanks!

Wow thanks!

Some of those statistics are amazing!

Can I ask - I really should know this, but how many people are actually living in Sheffield?

Rite this isnt a place but it is something that u shud see.
At night when its dark and all you can see is streetlamps, go up to wincobank where limpsfield school is and theres a white fence that lets u c the whole of sheffield lit up at night. its really beautiful and i recommend seeing it.

Samuel Plimsol (of the plimsol line on ships) lived on Regent St and worked as a clerk at Rawsons Brewery in Pond St.

Ditz is quite right. I used live at Page Hall and would go up on to the top of Wincobank, where the old fort is/was. You can see the whole of Sheffield all the way round and it is indeed amazing to see all the lights. Bit dodgy coming back down in the dark though!!!
