FRIDAY 6TH AUGUST
THE HARLEY
10PM-3AM (at least)
TAX: £3 (FREE B4 MIDNIGHT!)
This coming month's Rough Disko will be our final date. After 6 years, most of our number are seeking new horizons in other cities, and it’s time to call it a day.* Massive, heartfelt thanks to all those who've supported us, especially the South Yorks regulars who have been there from early doors: you know who you are.
Fittingly enough, we are bowing out in the company of some of our favourite Sheffield players. Introducing these guys in full might require an essay, so we'll settle for a brief rundown. You really ought to know their names anyhow.
Leading the line will be Forgemaster and Kabal daddy Winston Hazel. Eleven years after first catching him tearing up Manchester's Electric Souls warehouse parties, we've finally got around to booking him. Recently responsible for the undisputed standout set of Warp 20, he'll be joining house dots past and future.
Representing for next-level bass music, we've got Grievous Angel and our brother in digital arms DJ Safestyle. The lines separating garage, grime, dubstep, UK funky and beyond will be getting a thorough trampling.
Stepping over from their usual residencies are Club Pony’s prodigiously talented DJ/producer, Run Hide Survive, and No Uniform regulars/RD extended fam Wow & Flutter. Joining them is a long-term soul-mate from one of Sheffield’s finest, most forward-thinking and most sorely missed nights, c90’s DJ Spuddha. Electro/techno/disco territories: covered.
Meanwhile, the RD residents will be weeping nostalgic tears as we try to make sense of it all. We'll be bringing down some of our favourite records as we kiss goodbye in style.
Plus: arrive before midnight - get in for nowt and receive a free vodka or sambuca shot. After 12 - it's £3 but the Sol will be flowing at £2 a throw all night.
