Hi
I am currently looking at three houses.
One in Newbould (Chesterfield), one in Brimington (Chesterfield) and one in Lowedges (Sheffield)
They are all the same price but the one in Lowedges is the biggest by far, the one in Brimington is the middle size, and the Newbould one is the smallest.
They all seem really nice houses, are all really quiet (have driven round at all times of day and night) and I like them all.
I have looked at insurace costs and lowedges is the most expensive, then Brimington and Newbould is the cheapest (which makes me think it might be the best area??)
Any thoughts.
Basically should you go for bigger house in not as good area, or smaller house in bigger area??

You seem to be basing your choice on house price, insurance costs and size of property. There are other potential considerations, e.g., nursery/school (if you have children or are proposing to have children), shopping facilties, access to countryside, social life/entertainment venues. But it's your choice.

Note: It's Newbold by the way.

Hi
I thought it was Newbold and then added the letter "u" at the last minute!
I don't have children at the moment and probably won't for a few years so schools aren't a prioirity at the moment but I know what you mean.
I love the countryside and spend loads of time in the peak district so have considered that, but all three areas are about the same distance - none are a long drive away.
As for shopping and facilities -again, they are all pretty even - Chesterfield has Whittington Moor and tesco etc, whereas Lowedges is close to a big Morissons store.
Believe me, I have considered nearly everything possible but probably didn't make that clear in my first post.
I am just unsure as a first time better whether I should go for size or location.
Also. as I will be living alone I also want to feel safe when I lock the door at night and don't know which area I would feel safest in.
