i'm posting this for a colleage who is interested in working in the healthcare sector.

she wants eventually to get into nursing but can't afford to go to university at the moment.

so the question is this: how do you get work as a Health Care Assistant if you have no experience?

Thanks

If you look on www.sth.nhs.uk they post jobs for Health Care Assistants/Support Workers and not all require experience. i went for a job at the Hallamshire without NO experience and got the job, although i turned it down. So go for it!!

I've worked for nursing homes for elderly people with no experiance. The wages are so low and the conditions so bad most places are desperate to take people on.

Try an agency, wages are often a little bit higher and a variety of jobs will give lots of differant experiance on which to draw when applying to university.
