sarahjane 21-09-2005, 08:46 PM Hi
Does anyone know when the new Beeches development houses are coming up for sale at Norfolk Park or who the building company is so I can get further information?
Thanks
Sarah
It's Gleesons - they've put signs up today.
I registered my details with the showhome on Park Grange Road, who said they were taking names to pass on - however, I've not had anything yet.
BertieBasset 26-09-2005, 05:25 PM should be some details around about 8th Oct...
nick2 26-09-2005, 06:07 PM Are they the houses being built near Park Grange Road tramstop ?
If they are the rooms look realy, realy small.
Those are the ones Nick.
They're also building further up Park Grange Road, on land between there and Kennighall Road. That is also Gleesons.
Gnome 26-09-2005, 08:16 PM I drove past tonight. Didn't get a proper look but does the sign say shared ownership houses? If so, is this all of them, does anyone know? Also has anyone found any further info?
BertieBasset 27-09-2005, 07:31 PM The houses should be very similar to the main Park Grange development that was a joint venture between Glessons and Miller Homes.
This latest phase will just be by Gleesons and they have apparently made some modifications to the design and/or layout, some are to be owned by a hosuing association I understand while the majority are to be private houses for sale.
Apparently this phase goes on release on the weekend of the 8th October, and they will be a selection of 2,3, and 4 bedroomed homes and 2 bedroomed apartments.
Perhaps Nick2 noticed the 2 bed houses if he thought they were small.
honeybee 27-09-2005, 08:39 PM Have all the houses on the original development/phases gone now? The website still says a few left but it is a month or two old.
BertieBasset 27-09-2005, 09:11 PM they only had three Suffolk types left (3 storey semi's with garage below) and they are now sold, I phoned up yesterday...there are about 3 flats left

I was just looking at the foundations, and the overall dimensions just look small, it's hard to tell when you go past on the tram but they do seem to be trying to squeeze a lot of houses into a very small area.
matt1889 28-09-2005, 03:38 PM Ive heard from a showhomes director that the interest is phenominal, supposedly like gold-dust!
Yellowrose 28-09-2005, 04:35 PM Which housing association is involved? Do you know if they are renting any?
BertieBasset 28-09-2005, 04:37 PM I'd heard that they'd had a lot of interest

nick2 28-09-2005, 05:19 PM They are being built in a nice spot, between two tram stops, overlooking the park.
Gnome 28-09-2005, 06:06 PM Does anybody know if they have price list at the sales office or any further info? Whenever I can ring they are shut. May pop down on Saturday.
BertieBasset 28-09-2005, 06:21 PM I don't think prices are being released until Saturday 8th October, I think they're having some event to launch it on that day

Gnome 28-09-2005, 06:34 PM Thanks for that. Might not bother this weekend then. Don't suppose anybody knows when the new phase will be ready for people to move in? Can't really remember how long the last lot took from this stage.
BertieBasset 28-09-2005, 06:35 PM I would guess at between 6 to 9 months

frankieboy 03-10-2005, 11:08 PM I walked past the rabbit hutches, erm i mean houses when foundations were laid and i thought that they seamed quite large for a dolls house hehe but would hate to have to live in one - will reeeeeeeeeeaaaaally be stretching it if they mention a double bedroom :) would suit fairy folk or little people though. :hihi: ever driven up top end of burngreave road? would prob fit one of these houses into their front room - literally
but dont worry if they run out
will be building loads more on the school site on opposite side of road after they shut the secondary school in 2008 - primary was closed july this year on same site - and flatten everything there. concrete rabbit hutch jungle anyone?
money money money pack em in.
oops getting sarcastic hehe
E-Man Groovin 07-10-2005, 10:16 PM People used to like their stereos and music players huge as well once upon a time (remember the ghetto blaster?). It's all about compact & bijou these days.
Anyway families are smaller than they used to be in the 1930s - so are the houses I guess. Cheaper to heat as well!

I presume you set foundations for a living frankieboy to be giving such detailed information just by seeing the foundations :loopy:
Are you talking about a school on Norfolk Park? None have been closed this year.
BertieBasset 10-10-2005, 12:22 AM apparently they sold quite a few of these yesterday...

You don't need any special knowledge to know a floorplan looks small, and so the rooms will be small.
BertieBasset 10-10-2005, 10:38 PM i agree with Vidster, you don't appreciate how spacious houses are until you're in them, foundations can look misleading, especially if you're going past on a bus

vidster 10-10-2005, 11:15 PM I've been here to see all these houses being built and every one of them looked tiny from the the foundations.
Our house is a two bedroom property and is quite big. The small bedroom would easily pass as a double room and the kitchen is way too big for my liking. I'm considering adding a breakfast area to try and make it look a bit smaller
