please help, i am thinking of moving to Sheffield quite soon (from Hull - i know, I've heard all the jokes and they are all true.) and i dont know anything about the city. Where are the good places to move to ? i have a young family and would ideally love somewhere decent and thriving with good pubs and schools. (in that order!) :D

The best areas for schools would be S11 and S10 postcodes. Both are excellent areas for restaurants, shops, pubs and the open countryside. I am in the process of starting a relocation company and would be happy to help you (just for the experience) find housing and help with anything to do with your move. I can offer genuine advice as I have children at both state and private schools in Sheffield. I've also relocated from Sheffield to London and back again, moving a total of five times in the last 6 years! Sheffield is a really great place to live.
