What skills have you got?

Start by looking at what you're good at and whether you can somehow sell that skill on.

I arrely say this, but if the need for money is to avoid someone breakling your legs (or the legal equivalent) have you thought about asking your bank manager or credit card issuer? Of course, that simply lengthens the time you have to find the money, as you still need to pay it back.

How fast do you need it, and what are the consequences of not getting it?

there was once an interesting book which was very logical and correct in describing how best to make a million.

The book maintained that if you start with 1p (which was helpfully taped to the cover of the book to get you started) and you could double your money once a day, then you'd be a millionaire in no time (about a month I think)

Seeing as you only need four grand 19 days ought to do it.

you'll need a run of luck though. Doubling from 1 to 2p is not hard, and in fact all the way up to 1.20 is pretty easy.

A casino with a roullette wheel will allow you to place an almost 50/50 bet on red or black, odd or even. It will need to be the minimum bet.

Obviously it's a scam. Send them £10 and they will send you instructions on how to word and place and ad, very much like theirs. They are delighted with their results and place ads hoping to lure in 100,000,000 people. They may experience disappointment.
