Hi,
we're having a debate at work about the best pie shop in Sheffield... but we can't actually think of any :) So the debate has kind of ground to a halt pretty quickly, can you advise us?!

Lilys on Penistone Road make great pies...............all their food is top quality..............and they use real meat...........none of that mechanically recovered crap............
I'd like to find a good pie shop. Does anybody know any shops/butchers etc that sell scotch pies?
I once went to a pub in Reading called the pie pub. Half the pub sold home-made pies and the other half real ales. We spent the night there ordering a different ale and a different slice of pie each time.....it was amazing...Id love Sheff to have one of those :)
Harrods Caterers in Ecclesfield make their Steak pies complete with mince gravy mmm you can order them ready to cook at home yourself if u wish - they take some beating..

Those wonderful beasties that have paper/cardboard-thin 'pastry' enclosing a strange lumpy gravy that has had a piece of mince waved over the top of it?
Only to be eaten when drunk or at football matches!!!

Not much to do with thread but it reminds me when a Scottish friend first moved south of the border and bought a pork pie to eat.
First time he'd had one and naturally enough he stuck it in the oven to warm it up. Inevitable consequence leaving him with a gooey mess at the bottom of his oven.
