How about something small and lacy in sock yarn? There's the Maia shoulderette or Annis or Baktus (not very lacy at all).

If you have oodles of time then surely what you want is something big or complicated? I don't think you will have forgotten how to knit and purl, it's not as if you've been away from knitting for decades (even then you don't forget)

How about some baby booties or a babies hat thats what I started with and they are really easy x

I made my first hat last week. I used to knit when my babies were born, my youngest is now 21 so I thought I'd pick it up again. It's so relaxing and my feet thanked me so much for sitting down for a change.

I found a really cool and trendy free pattern on the net and went for it. Bought a ball of wool from the market and I've still enought left to make some mittens, but I haven't found the right pattern yet. That's it I'm hooked and I hope you will be too.

I love wool knitted items they are really warm. I once tried to make a wool flower dress but it was such a hassle figuring out my design.

dish cloths? My favourite is wristwarmers/armwarmers, simple to do and the wristwarmers can be done in one ball :)

Thanks everyone. I decided to go a bit bigger and started Hey Teach last week using some Rowan Summer Tweed I had in my stash. The back is virtually done already:) I decided to do a bit of yarn therapy after getting some bad news and will cast on for Sylvi afterwards :D
