My fiance and i are currently renting in Netherthorpe, and are looking to buy our first house. We've seen a couple of houses on Windy House Lane which is just off the top of Prince of Wales Road and look very nice. Can anyone tell me what the area is like. It looks as though most of the old council houses round there have gone, and there's lot of new ones being built. i'm not being a snob or owt, we currently live in a council flat. it's just that i grew up around Gleadless Town end and can remember the Manor being a bit of a no go area, but having lived the other side of town for the last 5 years may have lost touch with whats going on around there. What's it like for crime and anti social behaviour? it's just i work regular nights and i'm worried about how the missus will feel on her own up there.:help:

If it's a new house, it's probably part of the Parklands development. Some forumeres live there and like it, but most of the threads turn into an argument about the Manor :(
