Just a quick Beware for forumers.
I had a call on my mobile last Friday, the person on the other end say that they were calling from Phones First and had taken over the billing of my phone.
They asked me some questions that I thought were getting a little to in depth, especially as they hadn't told me the reason for the call.
I said to the lady that I was sorry but I didn't know here from Adam and wouldn't give her any more details unless she put it to me in writing, she then asked me for my address, a bit strange I thought and asked if this hadn't been passed to her from my old billing company, she then said "I think we'll leave it at that then!"
I immeddiately called my phone company who informed me that they haven't transferred any customers and were aware of a scam whereas this company took details of you and then sent a very formal letter requesting immediate payment for an extortionate amount of cash, the letter was followed, usually on the same day, by a debt collection letter (from a made up debt collectors) requesting immediate payment. If you get this call or the letter, treat it with the same contempt they will show you and tell them to, ...well you know !!
