I'm moving up to Norfolk Park soon (uni's choice, not mine). If I bring my Golf GTi with me, will it attract undue attention from scallies? It's not worth much, but I like it too much to have it messed up...

I assume you are referring to Norfolk Park Student Village?

Ask the many people living around me with their Merc's, BMW's and Lexus'

I'd say will be fine with the usual precautions :)

The area is renowned not for twocking, but for thefts from vehicles. If you're going to bring it up here, never leave anything that looks remotely sell-down-the-pub-ish, or slightly 'shiny' on display. Although I bet your stereo is worth stealing :D

Well I was assuming the 'uni's choice' bit meant Norfolk Park Student Village (which never gets it's full title - shortened to Norfolk Park always), and as I was at college nearby last year, I feel qualified to remark on the amount of broken glass I saw personally, and the warning which followed from the college some weeks later! There is reputedly a home for 'disadvantaged youngsters' in the area, though nobody is suggesting this could possibly be related :suspect:

That'll be the bail hostel your talking about which is at the side of the student village. What a stupid place to put it

I've still not seen any broken glass though!

Actually, come to think, one of the girls in our class had hers broken into, but her car was like a mobile teen bedroom - full of stuff :loopy:

The stereo's a £50 special. Best not leave any tools in it though.

I'd say defo leave your car at home as it woudl be probably broken into on a daily basis .... ok,ok not really just wanted one more car out of the Norfolk Park area so that I could for once get to work on time in the term time.

Also a little sarcastic at times but welcome to the forum

Just do the usual things such as keep you car clean of moveable/saleable items and you should be fine.

I guess it depends which park of Norfolk Park you are reffering to..cause I live on Norfolk Park and it's rather quiet and not bad where I am but just the other day I was kind of in shock someone refferred to me as a smack head for living on Norfolk Park lol i feel sure they got mixed up between park hill and up here but I guess it's further down Norfolk Park where the trouble is but where I am it's fine and I wouldn't swop it for anything else

Yeah.

But only if you pimp it up and take it down the car park for a few handbrake turns.

Enjoy!:D
