BARRY "the fish" MELTON OF COUNTRY JOE & THE FISH
with special guests Linda and David LaFlamme, from It's A Beautiful Day
Barry 'The Fish' Melton was co-founder and original lead guitarist of Country Joe and The Fish. Barry appears on all the Country Joe and The Fish recordings and he also wrote some of the songs that the band recorded. He appeared in the films made at Monterey Pop and Woodstock, and also in the neo-western film 'Zachariah'. Melton is also a founding member of The Dinosaurs.
It's A Beautiful Day were a much loved San Fracisco band from the 60's/70's era, and were one of the earliest and most important San Francisco bands to emerge from the Summer of Love, and recorded a great live album a New York's Carnegie Hall. David LaFlamme's soaring violin on the band's "White Bird" makes it an all time and much loved 60's classic.
