Anyone got any suggestions? Places like Rotherham and Dore has been mentioned in The Star.

They should run a service up Glossop Road to serve the Hospitals, why they didn't in the first place is plain daft IMO. Staying in that area, they could run it even further up towards Broomhill/Hunters Bar as there is a large population of students in that area who would definitely use it without having to walk down to the top end of West Street to the University stop.

If the riad was wide enough I'd also suggest bringing a Tram up Stannington Road to serve the old folk, me etc, well it would make up for the inadequacy of the bus service in Stannington (see my rants in the "worst bust route" thread).
