I have just had a really bad experience..... iv been out with a few friends of mine for their sons birthday to "MEADOW FARM" IN ECCELSFIELD & oh my god what can i say..... it took ages to get us seated... then we all order all our food together... two meals came half an hour before the rest did. the food was absolutly pathetic!!!! i asked for my steak med-welldone, when it came it was ready for walking out of the door!!! my friends husband ordered cajun chicken ..... it was a shaggy piece of chicken cooked in breadcrumbs & burnt!! dont no what you people think but lasttime i went out cajun chicken was not like that!... then my friends 6 year old son ordered toad in the hole & the sausage was absolutley BLACK!!!! he only ate the chips!! we complained to the manageress who said "we caught them on a bad night" ........ Well im sorry miss manageress but if people want to go out for a meal weather it be Saturday night or Tuesday night the food should always be 100% thats if you want people to come back.... id rather have gone to Mcdonalds!!!

Ive eaten here before. The first time was diabolical:gag: a really unimpresive piece of cremated lamb-which arrived after about 30 mins(i dont mind waiting for a meal-but only if the food is good!).I was persuaded to go again-and to be fair the food was a lot better-but still not brilliant.I just avoid the place now-there are far better places to eat in the local area*cough*Admiral Rodney:thumbsup:

I ate ther once. Now I’m not a big fan of chain restaurants/Bars. The menus can be uncreative and individuality can be suffocated when ambitions turn to rolling out yet another carbon copy of the establishment before. However, I had the chicken breast ballotine served with honey and mustard sauce, toast and a delicious salad garnish, which included crisp shavings of fried parsnip. For mains, I had the rib-eye steak served with pepper sauce, dauphinoise potatoes and courgette flan - both potatoes and flan presented in perfect round stacks with the benefit of a sweet cuillere of swede puree. What can I say except it tasted as good as it sounds.

Pudding consisted of iced fruits parfait in a red fruit coulis, and for me, warm chocolate fondant (with a smooth, molten interior that oozed out) with chocolate ice cream, both washed down with a fruity dessert wine.

Not a bad place really, and the Chicken wernt burnt, like. And as for the bottom of Anna the waitress, the body of an hour-glass...with legs to die for.

Sounds delicious

But are you sure it was Meadow farm :suspect: I have been a few times with varying degrees of satisfaction ,but have never seen anything like that on the menu :D

I've found that pubs with kids' play areas usually have rubbish food.

People only go there so that the kids have something to do while the parents wait for their meals and get drunk

We went there once on a Sunday. We ate from the carvery and it was absolutely crap.

I can only agree with the above "absolutely crap" comment. Utterly bland in my view e.g. steak/salmon/burger etc served with chips and peas. We went there soon after it had opened and ordered a mousakka off the specials board, a very grey looking bowl of mashed potato turned up with a couple of token pieces of lamb mince, clearly the "chef" had never actually eaten Greek food or looked at a receipe for mousakka! To be fair they replaced it immediately with something edible (tuna steak....with chips and peas obviously...:-) and gave us a free glass of wine. Obviously we have never been back, but always amazes me how many cars are there when only 2 minutes further down the road is Cerrones a fantastic reasonably priced Italian....
