Does anyone know of any local firms who provide such a service, all the ones I can find so far are down South :mad:

My reception will be in a barn which I want to prettify (if thats even a word) but still maintain some of its rustic charm

Sparkle n shine weddings have got backdrops and twinkle table skirts, they also use a company to drape out venues. I dont think its advertised on there web site but if you email them, Im sure they can help.

You could try Ascot Marquees in Sheffield as I think they have dressed barns before.
