Does anyone have any knowledge of prices for young/new drivers on classic car insurance? Is it cheaper than modern cars or just the same?

Is it cheaper than modern cars or just the same? Jamp 25-06-2010, 10:05 How young? In my experience they require 21+. Is there a particular car you're interested in? If so then their club will probably know your best bets for quotes. It can be a bargain - my MX5 is 15 now so is eligible for some classic policies, I got mine for £180 when a 'normal' quote was ~£600 since most of my NCB is on my other car. I'm 26 and had my licence for years though. Best of luck anyway. convert 28-06-2010, 13:34 I'd agree that most classic car insurers won't touch the younger driver. ClassicLine, Mannings, Lancaster, Peter Best, and RH specialist insurance are all good ones to try. I've got my TVR insured through RH; 3K miles pa; full European breakdon and recovery cover and an agreed valuation. The cost was £103 per year. Mind you I am mid forties, and RH will only insure you if you have access to another car. I can add extra miles @ £10 per 1000 miles. |
