FRIDAY 2ND JULY
THE HARLEY
10PM-3AM
TAX: £3 (FREE B4 MIDNIGHT!)
So we enter the sleepy, sultry climes of the South Yorks summer. The studes have departed, those of us who remain relaxing into the spaces they've left behind. Sheffield sporting its unique collage of concrete and greenery. And Rough Disko keeping right on pushing the dance your way.
Easing in for July, we bring you two Steel City names you need to get familiar with if you haven't already. Repping our kindred souls Wee Bit Mean is James Montrave. Consistent peddlers of some of the heaviest line-ups seen here over the past year, the Mean boys have recently made merry in the company of Martyn, Hyetal, Darkstar and Untold. Montrave will be advancing the relentlessly forward-looking WBM agenda, based on the freshest dubstep, house and post-garage flavours.
Less than a month after his debut at Squelch & Clap, we're also super pleased to be welcoming Baka Baka to the fold. Producer of gorgeous gloopy and off-kilter electronics, and armed with a deadly knowledge of Ableton, he'll be rolling out a deep and bassy house selection to get your sway on to.
Revelling in an extended run-out, the RD rezzies team will be flexing with freedom for the first few hours. We'll be ranging freely between techno, disco, tropical, cumbia, UK funky and any other point likely to get things simmering nicely.
And cos we're in fine good humour at this time of year, we've got the Harley to line up some tasty drinks offers.
Arrive before midnight: get in free and receive a free vodka or sambuca shot.
Get there after 12: it's £3 but the Sol will be flowing at £2 a throw all night.
