Apparently the world's first "finishing school" for men is due to open it's doors shortly to cater for an (apparently) increasing demand. Lessons in etiquette, ballroom dance, wine tasting etc. will all be offered. To a degree this reminded me of the old rennaisance man ideal (a man who has broad intellectual interests and is accomplished in areas of both the arts and the sciences) and got me wondering what you consider to be the skills and abilities a gentleman should possess?

Simplicity and naturalness. Too much ettiquette, just stikes me as contrived and false.

Lol do you know, after the day I've had and the sorts of people I've conversed with, I do think this would be a fabulous idea! lol!!
Manners, etiquette and being well spoken is something that I really appreciate and like in a man...
I don't think a snobbery school is the answer though... I reckon more like a "how not to wind your wife/gf up" course would do... lol!

I wouldn’t bother, doc, if I were you. I enrolled for the first term and was subsequently permanently excluded for drinking, smoking and calling the head a grotesquely ugly ****. Me and my mouth!
