Saw it last night.

I don't know that it can really compare to the BBC drama. It's difficult to condense so much into such a movie.

Still really enjoyed it though. Kiera Knightley is fantastic in it.

If anybody goes to see it, will you let me know what you thought of it?

Thanks.

I might give it a go, but the Beeb dramatisation was just sooo perfect it'll be incredibly difficult to live up to. I think Keira is too pretty to play Lizzie.

Saw it saturday [and also Wolf Creek [nasty film !] and Must love dogs] and thought it was pretty good. Not seen the BBC effort. Was thinking it'd be a bit too lovey-dovey but it turned out good and some decent laughs along the way. Oh, and Keira was fab, but whats-her-name that played Jane was much sexier IMHO :P

I thought it was brilliant and that they did really well in making it a film. Kiera Knightley is a fab actress and i thought she was perfect as Lizzie. Loved the BBC drama as they didnt cut out much. But the film was funny. Where is my Mr. Darcy???? :P

I just can’t imagine that anyone as stunning as Keira Knightly would ever be right for Lizzie though. Yes, she may act the part very well, but the whole point of Lizzie is that her beauty only becomes apparent to those who get to know her (i.e. the reader, her sisters, Darcy), on the surface she is only moderately attractive. This is why Darcy doesn’t find her attractive to start with, but slowly finds her more beautiful as he gets to know her. The Bingley sisters are also meant to take pleasure in criticising her reputation as a local beauty. I’m not sure how any of the above can apply to Keira Knightley – no one can say they didn’t find her instantly beautiful the first time they saw her!
