Hi everyone,

I run a property company in Sheffield and I need to discuss something with you all:
I am looking for a new location for two advertising banners that I have. They are fairly large: one is h6' x w6' and the other is h6' x w16' !!!

Does anyone have any ideas about where I could mount them? A side of a building or commercial premises for example.

I don't want to pay for their locations but in exchange for the right location (high traffic/foot fall) I can offer other benefits instead.

If anyone has had similar experience/success or if anyone knows of any businesses that would be interested then drop me a line.

I look forward to discussing it with you all in this post.

Many thanks.

A bit of an obvious question for someone with a property website :suspect:, but why don't you just contact landlords or agents of the types of properties you'd like to advertise on and ask them? I can't think of an easier (you must have loads of contacts) and quicker way to do it.

No one here can fully tell you where you can advertise since they won't know if the building has planning permission for allowing an advertising banner (which is a requirement) unless they just happen to know all of this detail already (i.e. they own or managethe building) and since you cannot prospect your offer here, neither can people start discussing your offer.

If this thread turns into an offers fest the thread will be deleted so this is only for suggestions.

We already have some banners on buildings owned/managed by our partners but I wanted approach a wider audience.

For example there are lots of square advertising boards for a roofing contractor around Sheffield, on boarded up windows especially, and I wondered what the legality of doing similar would be.

Or if anyone can suggest a company who already has banners on their building I could contact them.

Thank you muchly

You need planning permission to put up an advertising banner on the exterior of a building. Even England flags should not (legally) be hung from windows (but they are of course, maybe after tomorrow they will be down anyway!) so you are still back to only being ableto approach and ask the landlord or building manager who knows if it has it or not.

Also, you are only going to place the banner in a suitable position anyway so if you cant see it from a main road positin then you're not going to bother are you? So drive around yourself, locate potential sposts and those with boards up already, and go ask someone at the property.

PS those with boards up for national brands will have their advertising space managed by such as JC Decaux, so not worth bothering those.
