There was a song out back in the early 80's which I used to hear all the time. I remember some of the words but cannot find it anywhere . . . do you know?

If I'm right the words went something like:

'And you get so down - that you can't get up,
But you want so much and you're so out of luck'

The chorus had a really weird word in it like 'Akushay thwa' followed by 'I can't get up' several times.

It's been bugging me for days now . . . anyone know?
