CASBAH 22ND SEPTEMBER / DOORS 7:30PM / ENTRY £1 WITH DRINKS OFFERS ON ALL NIGHT...

BIG STRIDES
CELLARHIGH
PISCO SOUR HOUR

... The Big Strides are one of my favourite bands combining jazzy indie rock licks with catchy sharp vocals and fat beats. They played glasto this year to huge success and are tipped to break through over the next 12 months (just read the flyer below) attitude and songs galore...

... Cellarhigh (who were specifically requested by the Big Strides) will be playing they're first gig back in Sheffield with all brand new material which sounds (im my humble opinion) awesome. Its a diversive mix of powerful vocal alternative rock with influences ranging from funk, jazz, indie to dance, d'n'b and even emo! The Sheffield adoptive sons have only been around for little under two years but already they've notched up top gigs supporting big names, headlining the stuff't olives club event and playing this years Devonshire Jam...

... Pisco Sour Hour are a 3 piece band from Sheffield who play dark and twisted pop songs. With a real edge to their music, at times they make you uncomfortable, other times they make you want to dance, but however at the time they make you feel they have starting cemented themselves as a favourite amongst the Sheffield plethra of bands...

This is going to be a top night.

Big Strides are getting big ... funny, clever lyrics and tuneful jazzy punk-tinged funk grooves are the order of the day!

Cellarhigh, as any fool should know, rock hard. they're wicked

See you all there

dudes! its this thursday!! if you like jazz, funk, quirky phat beats and weird pop then come down - its only £1 and the drinks are cheap!

seriously though, big strides are a VERY good band and you won't get to see them for this price elsewhere as this is a special gig lined up in Sheffield after Glastonbury this year.

Cellarhigh are a Sheffield band going places with Leadmill dates including this october coming up - see another Sheffield band before they (fingers crossed!) make it onto bigger stages

Pisco sour hour are only one of sheffields most reknowned indie acts, but with a difference. They may be indie but its not as you know it mainstream pop indie, a really special band.

bump

just a quick note as well to say that:

CELLARHIGH will be selling tickets for their upcoming Leadmill gig supporting LOUIS XIV on the SAT 08/10/2005:

"LOUIS XVI ARE BEING SLIGHTLY HYPED UP IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY. THEY WERE RECENTLY DECLARED ONES TO WATCH BY ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE (U.S.), OPENED FOR THE KILLERS EARLIER THIS YEAR AND ARE BEING GENERALLY SPLASHED AROUND ALMOST EVERY NEWSPAPER INCLUDING A THREE PAGE FEATURE IN THE GUARDIAN"

On the corner of Cambridge Street and Cross Burgess Street - back of John Lewis'. There's a regular bar at ground level and a gig bar downstairs.
Used to be the Wapentake - one of my stomping grounds in my teens.
