View Full Version : Can I get my photos made into a calendar at Asda? Angel01 15-09-2005, 19:24 Can anybody tell me if there are calanders that can be made at ASDA with your own photos. I've ordered photos & posters from them & they have very prompt delivery. hj dary 16-09-2005, 06:46 I think you can but I've found the best Asda store to go to is the one in Rotherham. I've been to the one in Handsworth twice now with photos on disc's which I've created at home. On both occasions their machine wouldn't scan my disc proplerly. The first time a surley young girl behind the counter just didn't want to know. It was too much bother for her miserable face to even acknowledge there was some problem with their machine. The second time a nice young bloke told me it was down to the software on the machine and he was very sorry about it. Anyhoo, on both occasions I've took the "faulty disc"(surley moo's words) to the Asda at Rotherham poped it in their machine and it's worked fine. The staff at Rotherham are fantastic too. Last time I went in they were very busy but still managed to fit me in, and did it all with a smile! ttfn sillymoose 19-07-2006, 10:55 Has anyone noticed the slight cropping problem at asda? Iv had a set of images done (the exact same photos) at two different asdas and one of the sets came back with the heads chopped off I wasnt most pleased. venger 19-07-2006, 10:58 I don't know about ASDA but why dont you try this website... http://www.photobox.co.uk/gifts.html#12calnew £14.99 for a 13-page A3 calendar or £3.50 for a one sheet calendar. There's a program called Simply Calendars available (don't have an address, google would help:)). Works very well too:thumbsup: BasilRathbon 19-07-2006, 13:19 I've not tried having photos printed from a CD in a photo shop yet, but wondered what effect cropping the photos on your PC prior to taking them in has? EG if you're having photos printed 6"x4" and one of them has been cropped to 3"x4" does the printing software stretch the photo to fit 6x4 or does it print it smaller and with a big blank space where the bit you've cropped out would have been? furry_chick 19-07-2006, 16:52 Truprint do it online - you just upload your piccies - simple as that! howeyz 19-07-2006, 17:00 S and N colour printers in Sheffield do a great job for £10.You can e-mail them at info@24hourprinting.co.uk www.24hourprinting.co.uk Strix 20-07-2006, 00:07 Has anyone noticed the slight cropping problem at asda? That's the problem sith most digital processing - because most of us are rubbish at taking photos and leave too much rubbish around the edges. www.photobox.co.uk allow you to choose your crop lines though, so that problem is eliminated  Strix 20-07-2006, 00:09 I've not tried having photos printed from a CD in a photo shop yet, but wondered what effect cropping the photos on your PC prior to taking them in has? If you've cropped them, it zooms the image out, and if the software is any good (like on photobox) it will tell you if you're trying to print at too high a resolution for the size of print ;) Babooshka 20-07-2006, 13:05 Try Bonus Print on line!
