hi

i recently planted some confiers but they dont seem to be growing as fast as i thought... can any one advise the best fertiliser or whatever to put on them to make them grow.. will miracle grow work?

Best advice Becci would be to take them out again.
Conifers leach the surrounding soil of nutrients and tend to grow so fast that they get out of control. We just paid £400 to have 4x 40ft leylandii removed.
I'd rather plant laurels or shrubs that reach a defined height limit.
You need to ensure a good water supply for conifers otherwise they tend to go brown and die. You can't cut back into the brown parts when pruning - it doesn't grow back green.

However, if you plan to keep them, a general fertilizer will work - Miracle Gro is fine.

they were removed last month.
We planted them about 15 years ago - but they got out of hand after 10.
