I live there - it's my first experience of living in sheffield and I quite like it to be honest... My boyf owns the flat - its ex council, and to be honest a couple of our neighbours can crank the volume up a bit but it's generally ok - a nice place to live. There are some pesky kids about and I had my car broken into (but i did leave a microwave on the back seat) but the co-op and decent pubs are in walking distance and it's only £4.50 for a taxi into town! Thing is - if he's an owls fan as I am guessing you are owlad - you can hear the chanting from bramall lane when the blades are playing!

I live there, it's the quietest place I've lived in Sheffield.

I live near the Olive Grove (which might actually be Arbourthorne), which despite looking a bit grotty is an Ok pub, it's a 5 minute walk up the hill to the tram stop, or a 15 minute walk into town. There are a few busses routes that go past.

The Sheaf View and a couple of other pubs are walking distance as is the Virgin Gym and all the shops/restaurants on London Road.

Heeley Green surgery is a good doctors surgery and you don't have to wait too long for an apointment.

House prices seem to be going up quite quickly so get in there while you can.

Parking is a nightmare when there is a match on though, unless you live in the "idle zone" as we call it, where you are too far away from the football ground for a driver to contemplate walking.

My sister has lived on alberto road for about 5 years and hasnt has any toruble. The only thing she's complained about is someone apparently had a cockrel for a pet which used to make a loada noise in the morning. Also she thinks there's a music teacher lives on the street cos you can hear brass instuments being played during the day, i dont think you could stand on many street in sheffield and hear a trumpet and a cockrel at the same time lol. I used to live just up the road at meersbrook, i loved living there i think its similar to heeley in that its not the nicest looking place in sheffield but the people who live there seem happy to be there, i know i was when i lived there

The cockrel is probably at the city farm.

the whole of Heeley has a real sense of community spirit, I used to live on Shoreham street. and to be honest I loved it.
it had decent pubs, was a stone throw away from the city centre and nice people.
In the last year or so it has become the "place" to own a house. with professionals snapping up property's especially around the Albert road area. property's have now become quite sort after and people are now buying in neighboring areas instead.

I miss certain things about living there, but I love my Big garden and newer property.
but I would certainly consider living there again.

I used to live there a couple of years ago. It al depends on where u are thinking about living. Heeley Green i would say don't even think about moving there but around heeley bank road/slate street area is quite nice. I don't even think it is classed as shoreham street but it if is i wouldn't live there either because on match days it is hell.

I lived on Albert Road for a couple of years before moving to Woodseats and I really miss the happy vibe and community-feeling in Heeley. Lots of friendly lefty-ish neighbours, the city farm is great, Heeley festival is really jolly and the Sheaf View is the best pub in Sheffield. Only thing I dont miss is getting my car broken into which seemed to be an annual event, but that can happen anywhere.

Or possibly Mrs Draggletails boss? - She lives on Albert Rd, and 'keeps' chickens :D

Could be either, I guess......
