I used to fly mine without tuition or insurance and never had any problems. I'm not saying you don't need them, but I never bothered with them as I wasn't aware of them at the time. I used to fly around Carterknowle Road on the college fields and also there was a field further out towards the cat and fiddle, but you had to make sure the wind was low. My mate destroyed his one up on the fields behind Silverdale School when the wind took over and he eventually crashed it in to the ground. Great fun, but they do take some getting used to. (Ebay'd mine in the end, got bored of it :D) simon4x4 15-09-2005, 16:13 Nice!! But I'd prefer and if finances would allow to buy a remote control Helicopter! anyone any idea of how much or where to buy one?? beansfeast 15-09-2005, 16:16 I've got a plane with all the bits needed to put together, so bit of a project and I don't really have time anymore. But if anyone is interested... Grissom 15-09-2005, 16:31 Originally posted by simon4x4 Nice!! TAG model shop online says 350 squid http://www.tagsmodelshop.com/shop/Helicopters9584.htm spiffymonkey 15-09-2005, 17:38 I got one of the radio controlled microlights from Maplins for £25. OK, it's not a 'proper' plane, and only has three controls (left, right, power for lift), but it's a good laugh. Most of the cheaper ones are like this. jetuk 15-09-2005, 18:44 helicopter= big money, and lots of training! however indoor flying is on th eup, and electric helis are quite good with 20 mins flight time, but dangerous in the wrong hands. join a club! the ssa have indoor sessions at the uni gym on sundays throughout the winter and theres lots of people who will advise, and even give you a go. dave Grissom 15-09-2005, 18:52 Better link here - all kinds of advice and helis available. Quite like the idea of sticking a video camera on a helicopter - must be pretty cool  http://www.helibits.co.uk/ codeman_cas 16-09-2005, 08:20 hobbies on shalesmoor is a good bet ,they have a lot in stock, electric, glo fuel engines and loads more . sorry i dont know the number but im sure there in the yellow pages. codeman Zinger549 16-09-2005, 17:19 they sell electrics ones for about £25 pounds at danbar games. they have those little stalls in the shiopping centers |
