My u.v filter, used to protect my camera lens on canon 450D appears to be stuck!
I dont want to force it too much in case i break the lens. Anyone tips on how to remove this safely?
Using the cable on your mouse (on the computer, not a nearby rodent) or a USB lead, loop it round the filter edge, and gripping the cable firmly, rotate in the correct direction and it should unscrew.
Basically your distributing the grip all the way round the filter, which evens out the pressure.

An elastic band usually works, a chunky one if you have one, it will improve the grip.

Oil filter strap not the chain ones. Excercise extreme caution, the rumour mill has it that this is why the front element is dropping out of Canon's 85mm L's, (the force breaks the small amount of adhesive)
