Poetry to brighten up a dull Monday...

"Monday, Moon's Day,
Ought to shine in the week
like new-minted silver.
Dull copper thoughts
just add another penny
to yesterday's small change" anon

"The way a crow shook down on me
a dust of snow from a hemlock tree
has given my heart a change of mood
and saved some part of a day I had rued"
can't remember the poet

I'm glad this thread was started. Here is a poem of mine which was published in a magazine about two years ago.

Those Cup Of Sugar Days

All for each
one for one
those cup-of-sugar-days are gone.

Locked in boxes
self-inflicted
to soaps and tabloids
become addicted.
Be the DJ
the landlord
the microwave chef
pour out another as you scream at the ref.
Electronic wallets
cashless
DD’s
pick up the phone ring shoppers TV.
Conversation gone
no need for chat
cosy
warm
just stay where you’re sat.
We’ve sewn the seeds
that strangle the mind
self centered hunger
ravenous
blind.

One for each
all for one
those-cup-of-sugar-days are gone

Sam Miguel.

Hey guys... don't waste your beautiful Monday poetry on this bunch of phillistines (only joking, I know there are some very lovely creative types here).

Post them on the forum of this (o.k., so it's mine) wonderful literary website: The Scriberazone (http://www.scriberazone.co.uk/bb).

As featured (well the main site away) in the Sunday Times, the Independent and the Beeb.

Cheers

Would anyone be interested in viewing some material from my 'Spring collection'? Interestingly, it began as a trilogy of 'hard verse', although it contained strong social overtones. But then it seemed to take on a life of it's own and slowly became something much, much bigger.

It is designed to provide the reader with a careful insight into the richness of our colourful language and, hopefully the careful choice of syntax will be enormously fulfilling and leave a lasting impression within the reader's mindseye.

Hello people, it is Monday, another week starts. Aren’t you happy with that? :D

I’m very serious indeed!

P.S. I mean Sunday must be on the bottom of my personal hit-list. Dunno why really, mb because TV is extremely dull on that day :?
