Ok, so I've got 3 days off work this week, and I've decided I'm going to start decorating my bedroom. I want some ideas for it. It's quite a small room but has potential. I'd like it in pink, but not kids pink, I mean that magenta kind of colour. I don't want to have wallpaper, I'm having my room plastered and I'm painting it, as in future it's easier just to paint over (learn by your mistakes hey!) I'd like a few more lights in it, you know, pretty pink ones or shaped ones for the walls. I want a few more storage places, but I want small and stylish shelves, not the old wooden sticky out things. I just want some ideas of where to go to get stuff for here, I've been to a few places but they don't really have what I want. Anyone think I should go to IKEA?? Oh yeah, it's all pine in the room too so it has to be able to 'go' with that.
Thanks in advance!

IKEA is great (just next to Leeds) and I would recommend it.
Go with someone to get good advice but you can pick up some great bargains and room designing tips from there.
No Frills DIY is down nr the Leadmill and youmay be able to pick up some cheap shelving, but I'd still opt for IKEA personally.
Pick up a magazine or two to get some ideas.
Is it easier to go to the Leeds IKEA or the Nottingham one?? I'm a bit unsure of how to get to both to be honest, am not too confident driving on big roads like the M1!! LOL. Being driving a year and a bit and only been on the M1 once!

I'd say Leeds is easiest.
If you ring IKEA Leeds (Huddersfield actually I think) and they have an automated answering machine with directions which are dead easy to follow.
Honestly it's easy.
However think about what you're buying, cos it could be hell transporting big goods home in your small car Chlo!
There isn't much in it really but I'd suggest Nottingham as it is simply down the M1 then off at J26 (I think) and it's signposted from there. There is a bit of a confusing roundabout layout near the Leeds store that got the better of me the first time I went and I'm not afraid of big roads!

I'd go with IKEA for the majority of your practical furniture. I (personally) don't like a lot of their 'style' ranges, and recommend TK Maxx (you'd be amazed) for cheap, modern bits and pieces, and John Lewis for anything that needs to be high quality. I did all the blinds in my flat (7 of them) for £140 from John Lewis - all light blocking, tasteful and easy to put up. That's much cheaper than curtains, unless you just want lining material! Also got a hardwood coffee table from JL for £50 (IKEA are better for beds though!!!)

That thick lining paper makes a great base for painting over if you wanted to save money on plastering.
IKEA done by mail order is much less stressful...
