I am fast approaching middle age...arghhhh!!

I am now nearer the menopause than I am to look back at puberty...it is really strange coz I still feel the same in my head!!

Alas though my body is starting to show the flaws of age...I am sure liver spots are appearing on the backs of my hands...a few grey strands are appearing amongst the blonde tresses, my boobs no longer pass the pencil test and my wrinkles stay long after my smile has faded!

Maybe it won't be that long before I need to invest in one of these (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/davesplace/mcorselettes.htm) contraptions....:hihi:

Do you know anyone who wears them??

I wanna know???

What else would you wear or do to avoid the effect of gravity in your later years??

I do know someone who wears them but even though she doesn't live in Sheffield I don't think she'd appreciate me posting any more details than that somehow :heyhey:

My grandmother was very self conscious about any excess pounds & when she reached her early 40s she decided that she needed a girdle as all her clothes were gradually getting tighter & tighter & she couldn't seem to do anything to stop the weight gain. She was found by mum (who was 12 at the time) crying in the changing room cos she got stuck in the girdle & couldn't get out of it.) It wasn't long after that she had my uncle. What she thought was the menopause was 7 months of pregnancy :hihi:

When I was at uni, I shared a house with 2 blokes and a girl. She (in her infinte wisdom, at the age of 20  ) had decided that this (http://www.blands.co.uk/acatalog/Playtex2723p29.jpg) was a good way of obtaining a flat stomach :suspect: :gag:

That's all very well, but she left it drying over the radiator in the living room and tried to claim it wasn't hers!!!

Yeah, like I need one of those :suspect: says I, standing there in a cropped top and skintight jeans - sporting a set of stomach muscles rarely seen on women

I will own up I have worn a high wasted one from time to time it is very good for supporting your back when you have back trouble. Although I wouldn't want to wear one all the time.

That was some time ago Shiesh ;)

I used to wear a basque all the time, coz it helps posture and therefore prevents back problems :)

Worn with a fine pair of nylons I think the garment you describe is one of the most elegant and sexy images any female can portray. You can keep you cheese cutting thongs etc etc:heyhey:

PMSL! Classic Draggs!

Me mother wears one and has since I can remember. A horrid flesh coloured thang. I think that's what started my affair with stockings; the desire to NOT look like that so badly!
