Day in day out they're on the road, usually starting their days while you and I are in bed. They're out in all weathers, fog, snow, rain hail and heatwaves and day in, day out, week in week out they deliver the goods. If you've been queing for petrol think about the truck drivers, putting their lives on the line at times, think about the maniac drivers who will overtake on blind bends and sometimes do kill other drivers.
I know a man who does this job and have never thanked him for it, the events of the last couple of days at the forecourts made me realise how much we take people like him for granted, it's not just a job, it's much more important than that, people rely on him and thousands like him.
Let's not forget though that ladies do the job too, leaving family and loved ones behind while they're on the roads from 6am till 6pm, delivering what is after all a hazardous product.
Ladies and gentlemen of The Forum, will you all remember to thank the good men and women who are on the roads of the UK every day delivering this most essential of precious liquids!
Raise a glass to them tonight, without them your lives would not be the same.
All hail the Beer Delivery Driver!
