Whilst fuel stocks are low it would be a great idea to do some car sharing between members.
If you're interested, put a note below and see if you can find somebody to hook up with, especially on the journey to and from work.

A useful website is www.liftshare.org for those who care.
Seen today wasteful journeys with just one person in a car trying to turn right into a blocked petrol station and causing traffic jams!
I have been out and about today on several main routes. There aren't any fuel problems. There aren't any fuel protests. Car sharing is always a good thing but suggesting there is some crisis is what causes one.
As posted on the other thread http://www.sytravelwise.net has been recommended by Sheffield City Council transport planning. They have a car share scheme which you log into. free to join.
Tinsley Roundabout (Meadowhall) to Wicker Arches Mon -Fri
8am. Return Wicker Arches to Meadowhall 5pm.

there are no protests because they start tomorrow.
And there are clearly problems as has been discussed already on here.
Cyclone, Unlike the majority of people who are queuing at petrol stations in Sheffield, I have driven my car outside of the City. Having driven down several major roads for some distance I can tell you that there is no problem. Had I needed fuel today on my journey I would easily have got some without any queuing. If people are travelling within Sheffield then they can get a bus. If people are travelling long distances then there simply isn't a problem. Even those few places in Sheffield that have been busy will soon be re-supplied and then there will be no shortage as all the idiots who filled up without actually going anywhere will still have full tanks.

I can tell you that the situation is similar in felixstowe, including on A routes, and that in Woking the local stations have all run out already.
It's not local to Sheffield, although stations further from cities and population centres will undoubtedly have fuel for longer (simply because they charge more and don't have a fixed consumer base).
